David Kahn

In episode 27 “Timberwolves Explosion” I made the statement that Timberwolves President of Basketball David Kahn would make quite a stock trader.  The reason for the above opinion is that in stock trading, you never chase a stock, you let it fall to you. Kahn didn’t chase Rubio with his new found 5th overall pick to try to land the #2. No folks, Kahn let the Spanish Phenom  fall to him, like a true stock trader, with that 5th pick.

Now with the stock trader opinion out of the way, a new name for Kahn has emerged from the great Paladino: “The Thriller”. No, I’m not saying the Wolves President can dance, sing, or even is strange, (though some might say otherwise). The reason for this nickname is, Kahn does the most unexpected yet “Thrilling” moves right behind your back and has been known to work late. Kahn when we least expected it, pulled off another trade Monday afternoon, when we all figured he was just heading out to Spain to chat with Rubio’s Spanish team in hopes of sweetening the buyout deal holding the guard in Spain for now. Kahn became the Thriller Monday afternoon, no one saw this coming, as the bloodbath of the roster continues, with three Wolves: Sebastian Telfair, Craig Smith, and Mark Madsen heading to the Los Angeles Clippers for… Quentin Richardson?? “Q” was traded less then a week ago from the Memphis Grizzles to the Clippers for cap space.

Now, apparently the Wolves will have even more cap space next summer in the famous 2010 free agency bonanza, 24 million in fact. With the 24 million cap space now intact, the Thriller Kahn has also found a temporary fix at the thin shooting guard position, for this year.. well maybe. With “Thriller” Kahn in charge anything can happen, as the unbelievably famous song says, creeping through the night, no one (on the current roster) is safe from the “Thriller”
